Trauma-Informed and Developmentally Appropriate Care
This course examines how trauma and developmental experiences can influence behaviour, relationships, emotional regulation, and treatment engagement. Learners will explore practical strategies for creating safe, supportive environments that avoid re-traumatization and respond to each young person’s developmental needs.
Understanding the OITP Model and Standards
This course introduces the clinical and operational standards that guide intensive treatment services. Learners will examine how these standards support service quality, consistency, accountability, and positive outcomes for children, youth, and families.
Working with Youth Experiencing Aggression
This course explores aggression as a form of communication that may be connected to fear, distress, trauma, frustration, or unmet needs. Learners will develop strategies for prevention, early intervention, safe responses, team coordination, and post-incident relationship repair.
Youth Rights, Privacy, Consent, and Dignity
This course explores the rights of children and youth receiving intensive treatment services. Learners will develop practical knowledge of privacy, consent, confidentiality, respectful communication, personal dignity, and youth participation in decisions about their care.
